A Seminole Native American Indian patchwork and rick-rack jacket circa mid 20th century. It measures 20 inches across the shoulders, about 23 inches from outside of shoulder to end of cuffs at the sleeves, and about 16 inches from the extended underarm inset to end of the cuff, 23 inches across the mid-section, about 26 1/2 inches long from shoulder to hem at the front and about 27 inches long from top of collar to hem at the center of the back. and about 24 inches across the back.
The jacket combines patchwork and rick-rack in shades of green, purple, yellow, red, periwinkle, orange, melon, white, pink and turquoise blue on a black fabric ground. The interior is unlined with unfinished hanging threads and the front is open with no closures. The sleeves and body are full with gatherings at the shoulders, cuffs and upper back. Very good condition, a comfortable, colorful piece of Seminole Indian clothing.
